If you're a fan of futuristic based RPGs, then you're in luck. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time was made just for you. You begin as male protagonist, Fayt Leingod, a seemingly lazy college student from Earth. Fayt and his close friend Sophia Esteed escape from the space station they were visiting, after an alien race known as the Vendeeni attack. Unfortunately, while escaping the space station, Fayt and Sophia get separated.

Fayt gets stranded on a under-developed planet called Vanguard III. From there, he makes some new friends and even some new enemies. When he is recovered from Vanguard III by a new found friend, Cliff Fittir, they end up on Elicoor II, another underdeveloped planet. Here, Fayt and new friend Cliff find themselves caught between a war between two different kingdoms. Gameplay is much like other RPG games, and the controls are fairly simple. You can create weapons, armor and items throughout the game through various NPCs that you come across in your travels through galaxies. There are many different categories of items you can create, including Alchemy, Cooking, Crafting, Smithery, and even Writing. Each character you get in the game have specific skill sets in certain categories that you can use to create items. Along with that, there are various NPC inventors you can find around the universe that is specialized in one of the specified categories. Imagine the sheer amount of items you can create. The part that separates this game from all the rest would be the characters. Each character was created with their own personalities and wit to them that has never been seen in other games before. Along with that, the different likes and dislikes make each character their own which makes the storyline all the more entertaining. Mix these characters with random moment cut scenes, epic battle styles dedicated to each party member and engrossed backgrounds to both the characters and the worlds you explore, you will find yourself very much amusingly lost within this game. Throughout the game, you can get up to seven other characters to fight alongside you throughout your adventures. Certain characters require certain actions and ultimately it is up to you whether you even want them in your team of galactic explorers but the sheer number of additional players you can have with you ( and control ) is enjoyable to say the least. Options are always good. Unfortunately you cannot fight alone, sorry loners. Along with these characters, there are also 19 different endings to this game that are both good endings and bad endings depending on what paths you chose throughout the story-line. If you are into the space related games and also RPG's, the Star Ocean series will not disappoint. This is definitely a buy. How could you refuse the uniqueness and creativity of this gem of a game.
