So now that my XBox is recovering, I have been playing on my PS3 and watching "Let's Play" videos on YouTube. Usually I watch these Let's Play ( as I have recently learned are videos of other people playing video games ) so I know whether to pick up a game or not, but recently I have been watching videos of The Amazing Spider Man. So I finally caved in a rented The Amazing Spider Man and to tell you the truth I am pretty impressed. If you can get past the fact that most times when Spidey web slings, his webs aren't attached to any building or structure, you can have fun going from one end of Manhattan to the other. And the story isn't bad.

The story takes place after the events of The Amazing Spider-Man movie where the serum that Dr. Conner took to become the Lizard has turned into a full blown viral outbreak. So you, as Spider-Man, has to help the city in it's time of need, from simple petty crimes to helping citizens get to medical centers to fighting giant robots across the city. There always seems to be something to do in the city. The fighting style is very similar to a poor man's version of the Batman series's counter style which can be a hit or miss depending on the situation but once you master it, you do feel a little on the "amazing" side of fighting. And they have series of collection missions such as, obtaining power-ups, comic book pages and even taken photos for the local news paper. Also from several unique costumes to unlock, there seems to be plenty to do. Indeed The Amazing Spider Man is more than just a weekend rent but might be good to have for those Spidey fans even if the whole invisible building while web-slinging thing gets to you.

Pros:

- Spidey fans will enjoy web-slinging through the heart of our friendly wall crawler's city

- Spidey keeps his high hearted humor - The atmosphere and environment pulls you into the world

Cons:

-Spidey tends to swing on invisible buildings -The story might seem like a huge jump from the believable aspects of the movie -The game might seem a tad short for regular gamer fans Regardless, this is definitely worth the now 20$ price tag or even a weekend rent. Pick it up.
